ShookOn

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026

ShookOn (“ShookOn,” “we,” “us”) is a scope-authoring tool for fixed-price residential builders, operated by Boulder & Beam in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we protect it. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

Account information — your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password.
Project content you enter — job details, client names, property addresses, and the scope text you create. This is your data; we store it so you can use the service.
Uploaded files — estimates or message screenshots you submit to the parser, used to generate a draft scope for your review.
Usage signals — anonymized, pseudonymized signals about how the interview and library are used (e.g. a question dismissed, a leaf added or removed), which never contain client names or project identifiers and are used only to improve the product.

How we use it

To provide and operate the service, generate the scope documents you request, maintain your account, respond to support requests, and improve ShookOn's interview and library using aggregated, anonymized data. We do not sell your personal information.

Where your data is held

Your data is stored in Canada (AWS Canada Central). We use a small number of service providers to run ShookOn — including our database and hosting providers, our payment processor, and the AI provider that powers the estimate parser — who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Files and text you submit to the parser are sent to that AI provider solely to produce your draft scope.

How we protect it

Passwords are hashed, data is encrypted at rest and in transit, sessions are protected with secure cookies, and each account's projects are isolated to that account's workspace. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

Your choices

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, or ask questions about this policy, by contacting us at info@boulderandbeam.com. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

Breach notification

In the event of a breach of security safeguards that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.
